Each Themes To Remember book with CD (Volume 1 and Volume 2) consists of a hard-cover, 124+ page Smyth-sewn library-quality book with an included compact disk designed to teach recognition of 40 classical music themes. The themes are taught through lyrics (written by the author) that make it fun, educational, and easy to learn.

Each book is fully illustrated with children in mind. Piano, a quiet little cat, and Forte, a rather loud little dog, accompany children throughout the books. Among other themes, Volume 1 features Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite and Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. Volume 2 features all four of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite.

Each volume also includes definitions of musical terms and notations of the themes.

The CD tracks include the classical music themes without lyrics, then with lyrics, to aid in learning and for "name that theme" type games.

Click on the List of Themes button for a list of the themes covered by each book/CD.

Classical Karaoke for Kids, a third hard-cover library-quality book with CD covering 37 additional classical music themes. It uses the same format as the Themes To Remember volumes. In addition to Piano and Forte, this volume also features Adagio, the cat, and Allegro, the mouse, in Haydn's Clock Symphony. (Of course, Adagio never catches Allegro because Allegro is always faster than Adagio!).
(The product requires a CD player, not a Karaoke machine.)

The combination of Themes To Remember, Volumes 1 and 2, plus Classical Karaoke for Kids covers a total of 117 of the most famous classical music themes from 42 composers. What a wonderful way to introduce your students, children and grandchildren to a lifetime adventure with classical music.

Antonin Dvorák From the New World with Lyrics is an 80 page, fully illustrated,hard-cover library-quality book with CD. This book and CD have lyrics for each of the 12 main themes in Dvorák's From the New World Symphony. Sample titles for the themes are: Play for the People, With the Gypsies I Want to Stay, Music Calls Me, I Miss You So My Country, Welcome to Spillville, Chief Big Moon Powwow, and How I Love The Woods.

The book tells the story of Dvorák's life in both prose and lyrics, and includes reproducibles plus a listening guide for the orchestrated recording on the CD.. The CD contains, in addition to tracks of the themes with and without lyrics, a fully orchestrated recording of the Symphony (without lyrics).

Our products provide a wonderful way to introduce children (and even adults) to a lifetime adventure with classical music!

Volume 1 and Volume 2 Teacher's guides are also available. These guides emphasize the importance of introducing children to, and generating enthusiasm for, classical music by first building a theme recognition foundation. The guides then give proposals for using each of the 40 classical music themes in each volume to introduce the relevant music concepts and the appropriate National Music Teaching Standards. This curriculum material is adaptable to any age group.

All book/CD combinations include composer portraits by a professional portrait artist as well as short composer biographies.

Enlarged (8 1/2" x 11") sets of 41 black and white composer portraits are available, including hard-to-find portraits such as Offenbach, Suppé, Smetana, and Joplin. These portraits cover the composers in Volume 1 and Volume 2 of Themes To Remember and the composers of Classical Karaoke for Kids. Teachers often laminate them for hands-on activities such as finding composers and placing them on timelines.
Portraits of the Music Masters, a small easy-to-keep-in-hand book (black & white, 5 1/2" x 6") that children will love. Includes original portraits of the most famous composers. Children will want to see a face to go with a name. Opposite each portrait page they will find a short biography including the most interesting facts of the composer's life. Great for classroom hands-on, school libraries and gifts.

Can You Name That Classical Tune, a CD with twenty themes from Volume 1 of Themes To Remember with a music only track followed by a music-with-lyrics track for each theme. Kids love games and this will be a favorite. Listen to a tune. See who can name the classical music composer and composition. Sing along with the kid-friendly lyrics, then learn an interesting composer fact. Great for classroom, for home, or for harmony in the car when traveling. Makes time fly.
